Patriotic Decorations

I have been decorating again.  I am a little late since the 4th of July is right around the corner.  But I have got a little time to enjoy the red, white, and blue!

Here are some decorations that I have put up in my kitchen.

Thank you to all of our heroes who gave us our freedom!!

Have a great Independence Day!!

The Nate Burkus Show

I can not get enough of  The Nate Burkus Show.  I’m sure all of you know of him.

He is a great designer.  He got his big start on Oprah.

My favorite part of the show is “House Proud”.   People send in video of the houses and talk about why they are proud of them.  Here are some pictures of a few of them.

This is Sharon Saffert’s home in Arizona.

Outdoor Dining Pavilion

The mural on the dining room wall is breathtaking!!!

Sharron's Arizona Dream Home

I DVR Nate every day.  He is on ABC at 10:00 am weekdays.

He also has some good recipes on the show.

Outside Spaces

I find myself dreaming about other people’s outside spaces instead of making my own.  Does anyone else have this problem???

Peas, please!

The peas are ready to be picked!!

My Roma tomatoes don’t look too bad either.

Now that I have fresh peas from the garden, I have decided to try this recipe.

Simple, Perfect Peas with Butter and Salt

Bring a saucepan of water to a boil. While the water is heating, remove the peas from their pods and place in a bowl. When the water reaches a boil, add some salt and the peas. You are just going to cook them for a very short time. Don’t leave the stove. Somewhere between ten and thirty seconds. You want them just barely tender, so they still pop in your – mouth, no mushy overcooked peas please. Quickly drain. Return the peas to a bowl with a dollop of butter and a sprinkling of salt.  I got this recipe from www.101cooks.com.  They have tons of good-looking recipes!!

I can’t wait to try this.  I will report back to you on this for sure.

In God We Trust

As we are getting ready for a morning of worship, I thought this would be a nice quote for the day.

If you have trust in God, you have it all!

 Have a good Sunday!!!
