As long as I can remember on Memorial Day Mom and I went with Grandma and put flowers on many graves.
Grandma has alzheimer’s now and I am just realizing how very thoughtful that was of her, not to just do it, but to take Mom and I with her every year.
Last night Big Ran and I put flowers on Dad’s grave, it looks very nice.
Mom had already put a flower decorated lawnmower on it.
But next year, I am going to go with Mom and take one, two, or all of my kids with us, and start a new tradition.
With all of that said, I would like to thank all the serving military and their families for their service and of course, today to remember all of those who served our country and are no longer with us and their families.
I hope everyone is flying their American flag high and proud today!!
God Bless America!!

It’s Veterans Day!
This is a picture of my Dad in his navy gear.
My husband is in the U. S. Army Reserve. He has been enlisted
for 30 years. I am very proud of him!
This is a picture of my husband with the
Commanding General of the U. S. Army Reserve. My husband is on the right. From
November 2007 to November 2008, he was stationed in Iraq, needless to say it was
a very, very long year for both of us.
My Dad was also a Veteran. He was in
the U. S. Navy. He served in Cuba.
There are so many things I could write
about him, but for now I will just say he was an AMAZING AND LOVING MAN.
Thank you to all Veterans!!!
Please pray for our country, our leaders, the families that are still in pain from loss, and our enemies most of all!!
We are so fortunate to live in “The land of the free and the home of the brave.”
Thank you to all the service men and women!
That includes you Big Ran, my hero.
Remembering and honoring those who have lost their lives serving our great country.
And giving thanks to those who are still defending all of us.
In this picture I am sending my husband back to Iraq for 4 more months of protecting us. We are at the airport in Kansas City. HARD DAY!!
And of course, my other hero, my dad in his navy hat.
Very Proud Of Both Of Them!!!
Happy Memorial Day!!
Wall Of Honor
|This is the Daviess County Courthouse.
On the ground in front of it is the Wall of Honor.
|It has the names of everyone in the county that is in the military since 9/11/2001.|
|It is a very nice display.|
|The white stars have the names of the people on them.
Some of the stars are gone now because of the weather, but there still are a lot left.
|The gold stars are for the soldiers who died defending our country.|
|My husband’s star.
Makes a wife so Proud!!!!
They are all Heroes.
