My Garage Saleing Summer Finds

Over the summer my friends and I have been garage saleing on Fridays.

Not every Friday, because we end up having other things come up that we need to do, but the goal was to go every Friday.

Here is a picture of my Aunt Marilyn packing the trunk of my friend Connie’s trunk with some goodies.

I plan on showing you some of our summer finds and what we end up doing to them and with them.

Tomorrow is sale day!

Dishes of the Month – June

The dishes for the month of June are called delphite.

They are Fire King like the jadeite that I have.

They are baby blue.

I have six dinner plates, two bread or salad plates, eight saucers, two cups, and a vegetable bowl.

I don’t have a lot of them, but enough for Big Ran , Madi, and me.

I am on the lookout for more of these.

I added my two blue goblets to the mix just for fun.

Dishes of the Month – May

Here is the 2nd set of dishes that I bought from the ladies at the church in my home town.

I got a set of six again.

This set came with clear, glass, dessert goblets.

They are just as beautiful as the 1st set and very similar to them.

I plan on combining them on occasion.

They are dinner plates, salad plates, cups and saucers, and dessert goblets.

Ooooh, the possibilities!

Here is a close up of the cups.

The dessert goblets are so dainty.

Thank you ladies of the church and Valerie!!

I will put these to good use.

Dishes For The Month of April

These dishes are a small part of a set from the Methodist church in my home town.

The church membership has dwindled down over the years and they are going through the extra things that they don’t need anymore.

So……………since I am such a dish freak I bought a set for my family.

I got a set of six.  Dinner plates, salad plates, dessert bowls, cups, and saucers.

 Aren’t they beautiful??

I think this set looks fabulous with my gold ware.

This dessert bowl looks to me like it needs some ice cream in it.

I talked to one of the remaining members of the church and she said that they are at least 70 years old.

They are labeled with Thompson.

I like the color combination of these dishes, black, white, pink, green, and gold.

I bought another set from them, too.  But that’s for next month!

Dishes of the Month – February 2012

I hope everyone is having a great week.

I have finally got my dishes of the month out to use.

 These dishes are just beautiful.

They are called Juliane Marie by Royal Copenhagen.

 

 

I have had these for seven years.

  I spotted them at a garage sale here in my home town.

They were boxed up and you couldn’t even tell what they were, I started digging and of course, I wanted the whole box.  I ended up getting the box for $10.00.  There are 16 plates and 12 saucers in all.

LOVE IT!!

At that time I knew that my twin daughters would be getting married and having babies before long so I thought that these would be perfect for that. 

 And lo and behold, I did get to use them for Kayli and Kami’s baby showers that I had for them here at home. 

 They were beautiful and cheaper than buying fancy paper plates.

These dishes are all different, meaning none of them have the same flower arrangement on them.

They all have this symbol and are all numbered.

Here is a picture of all the plates. 

The saucers are so dainty. 

 They have a texture like lace.

 

I haven’t used them since the baby showers, until now!
