Outside with Pinterest

I have found some cool ideas for outside spaces on Pinterest.

Here are a few of them.

I think this planter/floating candle thing is awesome.

I think this is very clever.
The title of this picture is “Spilt Milk”.
I could never do this because Big Ran would weed eat this all down to nothing!

Peonies

My peonies are growing like weeds!

Here is a blurry picture that I took about a month ago of my peony plant just coming out of the ground.

This is a picture that I took today of the same plant.

This is the plant that has the white blooms and the pink blooms on it.

Last year it only had five blooms and this year it has six.

I planted this peony plant out by my garden on the new house’s property.

So after we sell the house we are living in now, I will have at least one peony.

It’s beautiful!

It has one more bloom on it getting ready to bust.

I am planting some perennials around the outside of the garden.  One little plant at a time.

Are your peonies blooming yet?

Spring Trees

There are some beautiful trees blooming around town now.

I took a little drive and took photos of some of them.

Here they are………..

This is my neighbors tree with white blooms all over it.

This is my favorite spring-flowering tree.

I don’t know what it is called, so I just call it a tulip tree.

We had one of these in our yard when we were growing up, it is small enough that you can climb it and still be really close to the ground.

And another one.

I like the purple flowering trees, too.

Don’t you?

I have some gardening to do today, yesterday Shafer and I didn’t get much done!

Home and Garden Show

Big Ran and I met his brother Rick and his wife Lisa and the Home and Garden Show in Overland Park, Kansas.

Here is a shower stall with some nice tile.  I like the little black border.

They had many booths with furnaces, water heaters, roofing, windows, but the booths I liked the best were the landscaping ones.

I think this little set up would work in my back yard!

I love the sound of moving water.

I’m so ready for spring.

I am going to have one of these in my yard by next spring.  Don’t you just love some bright yellow bushes?

It was a fun time and nice to catch up with family.

This Month’s Garden – October 2011

My garden has been invaded!!

All of the mums that I have in the row outside the garden were planted this spring.  There are four of them.  They are all different sizes!  I have a huge orange one, a medium-sized orange one, a small red one, and a tiny red one.  Go figure!!

Below is a picture of my huge one.  Isn’t she beautiful?

This is the tiny one.  They are side by side.

My green peppers are still going strong!

Here is my sage plant.

These are all wild, I didn’t plant any of them.

Cherry Tomatoes

This is my bounty today.

I hope to show pictures of my garden every month, but I always have good intentions.

The spiders at the beginning of this post didn’t scare you too bad, did they?!
