Caldwell Reunion 2014

We have recently had our family reunion.

We always have an auction of things we all bring, canned goods, baked items, hand-made items, whatever you want to bring.

The Caldwell family is very talented.

My favorite auction item that I won this year was my Aunt Janice’s plum jelly.

YUM!!

It’s a great idea, we use the money from the auction to pay for the rental of the country club that we have our reunion in.

Of course the kids love the swimming.

We always have a great time.

I still miss my Dad, I guess I always will!

More of Christmas

At Mom’s Christmas we drew names and had to make the gifts again this year.

This is what my son, Nic, made for me.

Pretty clever!

I’m thinking that maybe his girlfriend, Megan, helped him out a bit.

DSC_0045I had Nic’s name and made him this duck tape billfold.

He loved it.

Mom gave us something for the new house.

Tears.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Today I am cooking and baking to get things ready for Saturday when I have Thanksgiving dinner here with my family.

Big Ran is working on siding the new house.

We are going to gather with my dad’s family later this afternoon, which has its good side and its bad side.

I love to see family and be with them because they are a part of me, but I sure do miss my dad!

I guess I always will.

Then Big  Ran and I are going to hunker down for the evening.

 EAT UP!!!

Happy Memorial Day

As long as I can remember on Memorial Day Mom and I went with Grandma and put flowers on many graves.

Grandma has alzheimer’s now and I am just realizing how very thoughtful that was of her, not to just do it, but to take Mom and I with her every year.

Last night Big Ran and I put flowers on Dad’s grave, it looks very nice.

Mom had already put a flower decorated lawnmower on it.

But next year, I am going to go with Mom and take one, two, or all of my kids with us, and start a new tradition.

With all of that said, I would like to thank all the serving military and their families for their service and of course, today to remember all of those who served our country and are no longer with us and their families.

I hope everyone is flying their American flag high and proud today!!

God Bless America!!
