Homemade Ornaments

Tonight Kennedy, Madison and I made homemade Salt Dough Ornaments.
They are quite easy too….my kind of crafting!

The recipe is very simple:

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water

Directions:

1. Mix salt and flour
2. Add in half the water, then gradually add the rest
3. Knead until the dough is smooth
4. Roll out the dough on baking paper or flour countertop
5. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters or design your own

Bake at 250 for 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs.
Make sure you don’t burn them.
Let cool completely and paint.
We used glitter too.
Spray with sealer.

It was quite an operation.

Kennedy just loves to have a paintbrush in her hand.

How fun are these?? We have Christmas trees, Wreaths, (which Kennedy calls Reefs) Ball ornaments, Stars, Hearts, and Bells.

Just a close up of the artwork!

I made the snowman all by myself.

I am so proud.

It was a fun time for everyone.

Now we just have to string them up and get them on the tree.

I would love to hear from you.

 It’s pretty simple.
